Strong Group are acting on behalf of their client who are one of the UK's leading building services companies.

They are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on either a permanent or contract basis located in London.

?You will be reporting directly to the commercial manager

Job Purpose

The role of quantity surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects.

Playing a key role in the initial business development stage, ensuring the project is commercial sound, completed on time and keeps the budget through to completion.

Minimising the cost of a project whilst ensuring value for money, maintaining high standards and compliance with statutory building regulations.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholder commercial managers, project managers, site managers, and external stakeholders such as clients, suppliers and sub contractors.

Operate within the boundaries of the office and project environment ans ensure strict adherence to H&S rules and regulations and contract law. Make balanced decisions in the light of risks and opportunities, recognising the impact and inter-dependencies of work based activities.

Principal accountability and responsibilities

  • working with our clients to assess ad agree contracts terms, producing commercially sound contracts that meet both the client and the company objectives. Ensuring that all contracts comply with relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers,and architects during estimate creation in order to ensure overall accuracy of costing
  • Monitor all contract variations, estimating the cost of variations and negotiating changes to contract terms where required.Support the business portfolio growth by preparing and analysing costings for tenders; providing accurate and timely advise to the project team. Produce tender documentation when required.
  • Monitor work progress against contracts terms, agree and apply payment terms with the clients for completed work and ensure timely payment.
  • produce robust cost plans for each project, identifying work packages and spend and monitoring progress.
