CAD Technician

Strong Group are working with a leading contractor based in West Yorkshire, specialising in providing high-quality masonry support systems for various construction projects across the UK.

Their team is dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions in various sectors.

They are now seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join their growing team.

Job Description:
As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in the design and detailing of masonry support systems for a wide range of construction projects. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and the production team, you will ensure that all designs are accurate, practical, and adhere to the latest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for masonry support systems using AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to interpret designs and provide accurate technical drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, drawings, and schedules for project delivery.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building regulations, safety standards, and quality control measures.
  • Make amendments to designs based on feedback from engineers and clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of design revisions and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
  • Support the development of design processes and systems for improved efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician, with experience within masonry support systems essential.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, particularly in masonry support systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant building regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to design work.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques and tools as required.
