Strong Recruitment Group are currently looking for a Contracts Manager, located in London on a permanent basis.

Candidate Specification:

  • Take responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects, advising on all aspects of construction works, including conducting the works, methods of construction, build and design and identification of potential issues.
  • To manage the construction team on assigned projects, including recruitment, performance management, training and development.
  • To manage the allocation of trades and labour, employed and sub-contractors – ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of resources on assigned projects.
  • To ensure adherence to the Health Safety and Environmental policies and ensure safe systems of work are planned and implemented on assigned projects.
  • To attend sub-contractor and client meetings as required, ensuring a positive working relationship is established and maintained, acting as an ambassador for the company at all times.
  • Running multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Liaising and constantly communicating with site and other key staff.
  • Maintain relations with main contractors and attend regular meetings on site.
  • Negotiate and order materials to tie in with programmed requirements.
  • Develop construction programmes to be used throughout the project.
  • Ensure that all site paperwork is accurately maintained.
  • Keep projects progressing within budget and to schedule.
  • Manage all sub-contractors and direct staff with decisiveness and authority.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy site at all times.
  • Ensure company is represented in a professional manner


  • A self-motivated, team player with proven leadership, motivation and negotiation skills.
  • Solid technical and contractual knowledge.
  • Effective communicator at all levels, both verbal and in writing – with the ability to develop positive relationships and present well.
  • Ability to plan, programme, monitor progress and achieve targets.
  • Positive attitude to health and safety and willingness to strive for improvement throughout the business.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Computer literate – must be able to use Microsoft office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Current CSCS card would be advantageous.
  • Manage complaints.
  • Day to day relationships with clients.

The salary on offer ranges from £45,000 to £65,000 per annum.
