Designer

Strong Recruitment Group are seeking an experienced Designer to join a growing design team in the construction sector. In this role, you will manage the design activities for a variety of high-profile façade and curtain walling projects, working closely with main contractors in the façades industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Design & Drawing:
  • Manage the end-to-end design process for projects, including customer and stakeholder interactions, technical drawings, and documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, product specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Produce accurate AutoCAD and Revit drawings, including full project drawing packs for customer approval.
• Project Management:
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are kept informed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders such as architects, engineers, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate and manage external design resources, ensuring the efficient delivery of design elements.
  • Address challenges and discrepancies quickly, working with both internal teams and external parties.
• Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, ensuring proper storage in internal and external systems.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency with 2D design software (essential), preferably AutoCAD, and 3D design software (Revit desirable).
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
• Previous experience working with main contractors in the façades industry on large-scale façade or curtain walling projects.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering high-value projects (£150K+), ideally with Tier 1 or 2 Main Contractors.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
• Experience with fire-rated systems or products is advantageous.

Competitive salary of £50,000 – £60,000 per annum, plus benefits.
