Strong Group are working with an established and respected Building Services specialist in West Yorkshire who are looking for a skilled Electrical Estimator with a focus on competitive tenders to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and strategic electrical cost estimates for large-scale construction projects. You will analyse tender documents, collaborate with various stakeholders, and develop competitive bids that align with project requirements and company objectives. Your ability to deliver precise estimates under tight deadlines will be crucial in securing new business and ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tender Preparation: Review and analyse tender documents, including specifications, drawings, and contracts, to determine the full scope of electrical work required. Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for electrical components in line with tender deadlines.
• Cost Analysis and Pricing: Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes, negotiate pricing, and select the most cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or timelines. Factor in labour, materials, and equipment costs to produce accurate estimates.
• Bid Strategy: Work closely with senior management to develop and refine bid strategies that maximise our chances of winning competitive tenders. Provide detailed breakdowns and justifications for cost estimates and pricing decisions.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure all aspects of the estimate align with the overall project strategy and objectives. Assist in clarifying scope and technical queries during the tender process.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with the tendered project, including technical, financial, and schedule risks. Propose mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed records of all tender submissions, including cost estimates, assumptions, and correspondence. Ensure all tender documents are submitted accurately and on time.
• Industry Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements that may impact cost structures or competitive positioning. Use this knowledge to refine estimating practices and improve bid competitiveness.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience as an Electrical Estimator, with a strong background in competitive tendering within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labour, and relevant industry standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with the ability to interpret complex tender documentation accurately.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimating.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict tender deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Salary has been quoted as circa. £50K plus package DOE. There is flexibility in this figure for an exceptional candidate.
