Strong Group are currently working with a leading manufacturer of structural building components, specialising in innovative facade systems for various sectors. Their expertise lies in delivering high-performance, sustainable, and aesthetically-driven solutions for the construction industry.

They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Facades Estimator to join our team and contribute to their continued success.

As a Facades Estimator, you will play a key role in their pre-construction team by preparing accurate and competitive estimates for facade projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, and internal teams to analyse project specifications, assess material and labour costs, and develop comprehensive bids for a variety of facade systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand project requirements and prepare cost estimates for facade systems.
• Calculate material, labour, equipment, and overhead costs to create detailed and competitive estimates.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and sales teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and technical requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes for materials and services.
• Prepare and submit tender documents, proposals, and pricing schedules in a timely manner.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to gather project details and address potential concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project information.
• Monitor industry trends, costs, and regulations to ensure estimates remain competitive and aligned with market standards.
• Assist with value engineering exercises to optimise cost savings without compromising quality.
• Support project managers and procurement teams during the post-award phase to ensure smooth transition from estimation to execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience (3+ years) as an Estimator, ideally within the facades or structural building components industry.
• Strong knowledge of facade systems, including brick slip
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with estimation software and tools
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of building regulations, codes, and safety standards relevant to facades and building envelopes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Salary has been quoted as £40,000 – £45,000 pa plus package.
