Location: Hayes Heathrow, London
Salary/Rate: £32000 to £40000 per annum

Strong Groups’ client has an exciting opportunity available: they are seeking to expand their team by hiring an experienced Ocean/Air/Land Freight forwarder / operator for their office in Hayes.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

• Proven experience in Ocean freight, Air freight or Land, ideally within a similar industry.
• Experience in imports and exports to/from the UK.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• Driving License.

THE ROLE:

• £32,000 to £40,000 per annum
• Permanent, Full-Time, Immediate start
• Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:30pm
• 23 days holidays plus bank holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversaw the import process for sea freight, air freight, land freight, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of international shipments.
• Monitored and ensured adherence to customs regulations, preparing, and submitting all necessary documentation to avoid delays and penalties.
• Liaised with vendors, shipping lines, and clients to streamline import activities and resolve any issues that arose during transit.
• Prepared and verified import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Conducted analyses to identify cost-effective shipping routes and methods, improving delivery efficiency and reducing expenses.
• Inputted shipment details into the company’s logistics system and compiled comprehensive reports for internal use.
• Actively addressed and resolved logistics-related issues such as shipment delays, customs hold, and documentation discrepancies.
• Maintained high level of client satisfaction by providing regular updates on shipment status.
• Keep up to date with changes in import regulations, ensuring the company remained compliant with all relevant laws.
• Worked closely with sales, warehouse, and finance teams to facilitate smooth import operations and support company objectives.
