Job Title: Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Estimator

Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (Depending on Experience)

The Role:

As a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Estimator, you will support the estimating team by preparing detailed and competitive estimates for heating and ventilation projects. Working closely with Senior Estimators and Project Managers, you will play a key role in pricing, tendering, and project planning, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness. Projects typically range from £10k to £400k, with occasional projects exceeding £1 million.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing detailed estimates for HVAC projects across the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to develop accurate costings.
• Support the tendering process, ensuring timely and precise submissions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to source competitive pricing.
• Contribute to pricing strategies to secure profitable contracts while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
• Assist in managing project variations and updating costings as required.
• Provide support to Senior Estimators and Project Managers as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator, ideally in the heating and ventilation industry.
• A solid understanding of mechanical systems and the HVAC sector.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with estimating software is desirable, though training can be provided for junior-level candidates.
