Mechanical Project Manager

Strong Group are partnered with a leading Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor specializing in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, residential, and healthcare. They are passionate about innovation, sustainability, and delivering excellence in every project. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:

As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will oversee and manage mechanical installations on various M&E projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage mechanical services (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) installations on M&E projects.
  • Lead project planning, procurement, and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring work is completed according to project specifications.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor and control project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and labor resources effectively.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress reports.
  • Resolve technical issues and liaise with design and engineering teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the M&E contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and services (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field).
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards, construction regulations, and quality control.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
  • Full UK driving license (or relevant for the location).
