Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Dartford. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a background in working for large subcontractors in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in either Fitout, Drylining, or Facades and will play a key role in managing costs and contracts for various projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, within budget, and on schedule.

This role will be with a very large and well-established subcontractor, offering great potential for career progression and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and final accounts for projects.
  • Prepare tender documents, manage contract administration, and handle cost negotiations.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the financial performance of projects.
  • Measure and value works on site, producing accurate bills of quantities.
  • Prepare variations, claims, and manage any contractual issues as they arise.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery and address any cost-related concerns.
  • Oversee procurement processes and subcontractor management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contracts, costings, and associated documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide support in risk management, cost forecasting, and financial planning.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for large subcontractors is essential.
  • Specific experience in at least one of the following sectors: Fitout, Drylining, or Facades is required.
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and financial management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
