Electrical Estimator

Location: Gloucestershire

Overview

An established and growing Electrical & Mechanical contractor is looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to support continued growth across its predominantly residential project portfolio.

This role suits a detail-driven and commercially aware estimator who enjoys working on a high volume of projects and being closely involved with the wider pre-construction and delivery teams.

Projects typically range in value from £50k to £1m, with approximately 90% residential and some light commercial exposure.

The position is primarily office-based in Gloucestershire, with the option to work from home up to two days per week once fully integrated into the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and competitive electrical estimates and tender submissions

  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documentation

  • Carry out labour and material take-offs to support cost planning and budgeting

  • Work closely with directors, pre-construction, and project delivery teams

  • Support pricing across multiple residential projects concurrently

  • Attend site visits when required to gather information and support estimates

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners

  • Ensure tenders are submitted accurately, commercially, and on time


Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical estimating

  • Strong background in residential electrical projects

  • Comfortable working on project values from £50k-£1m

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

  • Organised, analytical, and commercially minded

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
