Role Overview

A growing building contractor based in Livingston is seeking a M&E Estimator to join their pre-construction team due to continued business growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates across a range of mechanical and electrical packages, supporting the delivery of projects across multiple sectors.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work across varied projects while playing a key role in securing new business and ensuring cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents, drawings and specifications to produce accurate cost estimates

• Prepare detailed M&E estimates covering both mechanical and electrical packages

• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing

• Develop project cost plans and tender submissions

• Support the preparation of bid documentation and tender presentations

• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation

• Maintain organised records of quotations, estimates and tender documentation

• Collaborate with project and commercial teams during the tender process

• Commercial

• Mixed-use developments

Typical project values:
£100,000 – £3,000,000

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as an M&E Estimator

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services

• Experience preparing tenders across multiple sectors

• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously

• Strong analytical and numerical skills

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Experience using estimating software and spreadsheets
