Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team based in Dartford. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who has previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry. The successful candidate will support the senior quantity surveyors with the management of costs and contracts for a variety of construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule. This role will be with a very large and well-established subcontractor, offering fantastic career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and final accounts.
• Support in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration.
• Monitor and report on the financial performance of projects.
• Measure and value works on site, preparing accurate bills of quantities.
• Assist in the preparation of variations and claims.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Help with procurement processes and subcontractor management.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, costings, and any correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Provide support in risk management and cost forecasting.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry is essential.
• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent) preferred.
• Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and financial management principles.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
