Role Summary

A strong opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing mechanical services business operating within the domestic heating and public sector market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and securing new business opportunities across councils, housing associations, and public sector organisations, with a strong focus on domestic heating networks, gas boiler projects, and mechanical works.

This role would suit a commercially driven individual with an established network and proven ability to build long-term client relationships and generate project wins.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with councils, housing associations, and public sector clients
  • Generate and secure new business opportunities within mechanical and domestic heating projects
  • Drive sales growth across heating networks and gas boiler programmes
  • Identify tender opportunities and framework agreements
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
  • Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry functions
  • Work closely with operational teams to support successful project delivery
  • Maintain strong market awareness and competitor knowledge
  • Provide regular pipeline and sales reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience within a Business Development role in the mechanical or building services sector
  • Existing relationships with councils and housing associations
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Mechanical services
    • Domestic heating systems
    • Heating networks
    • Gas boiler projects
  • Experience securing and developing public sector business
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially focused and target driven
  • Full UK driving licence
