Electrical Design Engineer

Strong Group is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a contractor-side design team in Ashton-under-Lyne.

This permanent, office-based role supports a varied pipeline of residential, commercial and industrial construction projects, with full-time and part-time options available.

AutoCAD, Amtech and Relux/DIALux experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design LV power distribution, lighting and associated electrical safety systems.
• Produce accurate electrical layout drawings, schematics and technical details using AutoCAD.
• Complete electrical network calculations, cable sizing and technical assessments using Amtech.
• Develop internal and external lighting designs and simulations using Relux or DIALux.
• Ensure all designs comply with BS 7671 and relevant UK Building Regulations.
• Collaborate face-to-face with local engineering, drafting and project management teams.

Requirements

• Proven electrical design experience across residential, commercial and industrial building projects.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Amtech and Relux/DIALux.
• Detailed, up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 wiring regulations.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate drawings, calculations and technical design information.
• Able to commute to the Ashton-under-Lyne office for the agreed working hours.
