HIU Plumber

Strong Group Recruitment are working on behalf of it’s client who are looking for 1 x HIU Plumber based in Glasgow, Scotland

This is a permanent role direct with our client

Hour: 8am – 16:30pm
Salary: £42k – £46k

A hands-on, motivated HIU Engineer responsible for carrying out both reactive breakdown repairs and new Heat Interface Unit installations across residential district heating schemes.
The role offers structured development, full product training, and a clear pathway to senior-level progression within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test new Heat Interface Units (HIUs) on district heating networks
• Diagnose and repair faults on HIU systems, valves, and controls
• Perform planned maintenance on HIUs and associated plant room components (non-gas)
• Deliver professional handovers to clients and ensure a high standard of customer service
• Support system upgrades and site improvement works
• Maintain accurate service documentation and site reports

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Proven background in plumbing, heating, or mechanical maintenance
• Experience working with communal or district heating systems desirable (training provided)
• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
• Confident working on both installations and reactive breakdowns
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Proactive, customer-focused attitude and ability to work independently
• Flexibility to cover both Glasgow and Edinburgh areas as required

The annual salary on offer is between £42,000 – £46,000 dependent on experience
