Overview

On behalf of our client, a leading independent building contractor known for delivering comprehensive Building, Mechanical & Electrical, and Maintenance solutions, we are seeking an experienced M&E Estimator.

Our client is dedicated to enhancing and maintaining some of London’s most prestigious buildings and heritage assets. The successful candidate will work on a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, maintenance and development projects, typically ranging from £100k to £2m in value.

Role Summary

The M&E Estimator will join an established pre-construction team consisting of a Contract Manager, two Construction Estimators and a Quantity Surveyor. This role requires strong experience in mechanical and electrical estimating, the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and a keen eye for detail to produce accurate and competitive cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit budget estimates for mechanical and electrical packages.

  • Analyse drawings, specifications and technical documents to produce detailed M&E cost estimates.

  • Liaise with contractors, engineers, suppliers and architects throughout the estimating process.

  • Utilise market intelligence and historical data to prepare accurate and competitive tenders.

  • Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders regarding project costs and value engineering opportunities.

  • Ensure all estimates align with client requirements, industry standards and project specifications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an M&E Estimator within the construction sector.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their installation across a variety of projects.

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
