Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Location: Kent, UK

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 per annum, based on experience. Competitive compensation package includes potential company vehicle (upon completion of trial period and dependent on package) and annual performance bonus.

Client Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to handle detailed mechanical and plumbing estimates for high-rise residential projects valued between £5 million and £30 million. This position is critical for ensuring comprehensive and competitive bids in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare multiple detailed mechanical and plumbing estimates.

• Hold meetings with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Assist in the preparation of labour histograms, draft programs, cash flow forecasts, material schedules, and procurement schedules.

• Work collaboratively with the Electrical Estimation Team for joint bids.

• Review specifications, schematics, and drawings.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and take offs, keeping updated with the price of materials and labour.

• Negotiate deals with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Support the contracts manager, commercial team, and supervisors with ongoing projects.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in the high-rise residential sector and Design and Build schemes.

• Familiarity with estimating software like Quickscale and Extreme Estimating is preferred.

• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Office-based role, requiring presence in the office 5 days a week.
