£38,000 – £75,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance + Bonus
Projects £1m – £20m (M&E Schemes up to £30m Capability)

The Company

A well-established and growing M&E contractor delivering mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, industrial and mixed-use sectors.

With annual turnover exceeding £60m and projects ranging from £1m-£20m (with capability up to £30m), the business has built a strong reputation for integrity, technical expertise and long-term client relationships.

Due to continued growth and internal development, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to join their Birmingham office.

The Role

You will manage the full tender lifecycle – from document review through to submission and post-tender analysis – working within a collaborative estimating team.

The role offers progression and the opportunity to take ownership of tenders, with the expectation of leading bids as you develop within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates and tender submissions

• Analyse technical drawings and specifications

• Price both Plan & Spec and Design & Build projects

• Identify commercial risks and propose value engineering solutions

• Liaise with supply chain partners and subcontractors

• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings

• Manage 1-2 live tenders concurrently (plus TQs)

• Work closely with senior management and project teams

What They’re Looking For

• Experience producing mechanical cost estimates within building services

• Understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes

• Experience working on projects typically £1m+ in value

• Comfortable working within a team environment

• Ability to lead tenders with support

• Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills

• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office

• Relevant mechanical/building services qualifications (or equivalent experience)

Salary & Package

The business is open to different levels of experience:

• Junior Estimator: £26k – £35k

• Intermediate Estimator: £38k – £52k

• Senior Estimator: £55k – £75k
