Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their Birmingham team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing mechanical projects, specifically within residential apartment blocks, and will play a key role in delivering an £8 million project. The role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual who excels in stakeholder management, team leadership, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, from planning to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Oversee and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing queries, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve any issues that arise.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Work closely with design teams to ensure coordinated and approved designs.
• Prepare and present regular project updates to senior management.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, ideally within residential apartment block projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, MEP systems, and construction processes.
• Demonstrable ability to manage high-value projects (£8M+).
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and compliance standards.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management (e.g., HND, HNC, Degree, or equivalent).
• A valid UK driving license.
