Mechanical Project Manager – HVAC & Building Services

The Role

A growing mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to deliver HVAC and mechanical building services projects across the UK and Ireland.

This is a senior delivery role with responsibility for managing multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing full project lifecycles, and supporting the wider project management function. You will work closely with senior management while maintaining a strong hands-on presence across live sites.

Project values range from £5k to £1m, covering HVAC, heating, ventilation, hot & cold water services, and associated mechanical packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HVAC & mechanical projects from pre-start through to handover

  • Oversee programme, budget, quality, and H&S compliance

  • Attend client meetings, pre-starts, and regular progress meetings

  • Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour

  • Plan and manage resources across multiple live projects

  • Procure materials and manage suppliers

  • Prepare and manage RAMS and method statements

  • Control variations and commercial changes

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and snag-free

  • Produce O&M manuals and handover documentation

  • Carry out site surveys and assist with bids and tender submissions

  • Support and coordinate other Project Managers where required

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within building services

  • Strong HVAC and mechanical systems knowledge

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

  • Solid understanding of industry legislation and best practice

  • Confident client-facing communicator

  • ONC / HNC in Building Services (HVAC) preferred

  • CSCS card and strong health & safety knowledge essential

  • IT literate and comfortable working from CAD drawings
