The successful candidate will take ownership of mechanical projects from handover through to completion, working closely with the Managing Director and wider project team.
The role will suit someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and comfortable managing projects directly rather than operating purely in a coordination capacity.
The position will be approximately 50% office based and 50% site based, with current projects predominantly located across London and the surrounding Home Counties.
The business delivers mechanical building services projects ranging from approximately £50,000 up to £2 million.

Liaising directly with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information.
Ensuring materials and equipment are procured in line with the project programme.
Monitoring project progress and identifying potential programme or commercial risks.
Managing site teams and subcontract labour.
Attending client, progress and coordination meetings.
Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with relevant technical standards and specifications.
Managing health and safety requirements across projects.
Overseeing testing, commissioning, snagging and project handover.
Maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting progress directly to the Managing Director.
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the required quality standards.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in mechanical building services.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects within environments such as:
Healthcare
Education
Commercial buildings
Industrial HVAC
Hospitality
Mechanical plantrooms
Mechanical refurbishment and installation projects
You should be confident managing projects independently and dealing directly with clients and site teams.
Experience managing projects with mechanical values between approximately £50k and £2m would be highly beneficial.
The client is particularly interested in candidates holding some or all of the following:
SMSTS
CSCS or JIB equivalent
Gas Safe qualification
CIPHE membership or relevant qualification
HNC / HND or equivalent mechanical building services qualification
Candidates with strong practical mechanical experience combined with proven project management experience will also be considered.
The successful candidate will receive:
£65,000 – £80,000 basic salary, dependent on experience
Company car or car allowance
Company phone
Company laptop
Company pension with automatic enrolment following three months’ service
Travel expenses
Permanent position
Direct reporting line to the Managing Director
Significant autonomy and responsibility for project delivery
This opportunity would suit someone who has progressed through the mechanical building services industry and understands how mechanical projects are actually delivered on site.
You should be comfortable taking responsibility for the complete project rather than simply coordinating individual elements.
A strong candidate is likely to have experience with mechanical contractors delivering HVAC, heating, plumbing, plantroom or wider mechanical building services packages and be confident working directly with clients, subcontractors and site teams.
