Strong Group are currently working with an established and steadily-growing Civil Engineering specialist in Essex who are actively searching for capable Quantity Surveying candidates to join them on a permanent basis.

This role would suit a Junior – Intermediate level candidate.

** Relevant experience: civils, groundworks, demolition, drilling, enabling etc. **

As a Quantity Surveyors, you are required to be highly numerate and typically control an entire project budget. There should also be a sound knowledge of building legislation, building materials, design etc.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Control the cost of projects
• Analyse the profitability of our works and report trends
• Manage subcontractor works commercially
• Liaise with clients on a day to day basis
• Ensure projects are profitable
• Maintain contract documentation and advise on post contract matters
• Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and / or sub-contractors
• Post contract liaison with clients
• Post contract liaison with design team
• Timely preparation and submission of interim valuations
• Manage and value variations
• Preparation and submission of works final account
• Agreement of final accounts
• Measure and value the work done on site
• Ensure valuations are priced timely and agreed prior to commencement
• Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
• Write reports
• Carry out take offs for material procurement
• Have a sound awareness of the project, program and the works being undertaken
• Sub-contract negotiation and letting
• Agreement and certification of sub-contractor’s interim valuations and final accounts
• Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
• Help select and/or source construction materials

Salary has been quoted as up to £65K plus package (DOE)
