Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial delivery of construction and/or civil engineering projects on behalf of external clients.
Reporting into the Commercial Director, this role offers the opportunity to work on technically varied and commercially challenging schemes, managing projects from early stages through to completion. The position suits a Quantity Surveyor who is confident operating independently while contributing to a wider commercial team.
Commercial management of multiple construction and/or civils projects from inception to final account
Acting as the commercial lead on allocated projects
Cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Managing valuations, variations, and change control
Supporting procurement and subcontractor commercial management
Working closely with project teams, clients, and consultants
Ensuring commercial processes and best practice are followed throughout delivery
You will be an organised and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor, comfortable working across multiple project teams and disciplines. You’ll be experienced in managing several projects simultaneously and confident making sound commercial decisions.
Essential experience:
Minimum 4 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction and/or civil engineering
Experience delivering projects in sectors such as commercial, retail, heritage, education and/or infrastructure
Proven experience acting as a commercial lead on projects
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Additional requirements:
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Willingness to travel regionally across the North East and North Yorkshire, with occasional national travel if required
£55,000 – £70,000 salary, depending on experience
