Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 per annum (DOE) + discretionary bonus

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Estimator to take full ownership of the estimating and tendering process for roofing and façade refurbishment projects. You will manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to securing purchase orders, playing a key role in delivering high-value commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)

• Manage the full estimating and tendering process, ensuring projects are accurately scoped, specified, and competitively priced

• Attend site visits to measure works, assess project requirements, and engage directly with clients and surveyors

• Develop detailed project specifications in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers

• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities

• Provide comprehensive handovers to the Projects Team to ensure smooth delivery of secured contracts

• Consistently secure projects typically valued between £250k and £3m

• Work to agreed commercial targets and deadlines while maintaining high accuracy

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience supported by relevant qualifications such as NVQ or diploma)

• Proven track record of estimating and winning tenders within roofing and façade / building envelope refurbishment

• Strong technical knowledge of flat roofing systems, façades, cladding, and sheeting

• Experience working directly with clients and surveyors on commercial and industrial projects

• Confident communicator, capable of leading site surveys and commercial discussions

• Commercially aware, highly organised, and able to manage multiple tenders under pressure

• Experience liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to build accurate and competitive tenders

Work Location: Office-based in Portsmouth, with travel to sites and client meetings as required.
