Job Title: Workshop / Fabrication Supervisor
Location: Reading
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (Permanent or Subcontractor)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Workshop / Fabrication Supervisor to lead operations in our busy pipework fabrication workshop.
You’ll oversee daily production, manage a small team, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role – ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a proactive, organised approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day fabrication of prefabricated pipework.
  • Interpret drawings, create cutting lists, and track project progress.
  • Manage workshop staff and subcontractors, ensuring high standards and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain weld logs, material certification, and ISO9000 documentation.
  • Oversee quality checks – ensuring welds and assemblies meet required tolerances.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, and internal teams to update progress and resolve issues.
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are current and signed.
  • Manage materials, stock levels, and logistics for incoming and outgoing deliveries.
  • Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes and safety culture.
  • Recommend new tools, plant, or methods to enhance performance and productivity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in pipework fabrication and welding processes.
  • Proven supervisory or team leader experience in a workshop environment.
  • Excellent understanding of ISO drawings, welding standards, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of ISO9000, NCR processes, and H&S compliance.
  • Confident communicator – able to liaise with site teams, management, and clients.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with material ordering, stock management, and scheduling.
  • A practical, proactive leader who takes pride in delivering top-quality work.
