Class 2 Driver – Plant & Access (32T Beavertail)

Location: Openshaw
Salary: £38,000 per annum

We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 Driver to join a rapidly expanding transport operation. This role will primarily focus on plant and access deliveries using a 32T beavertail vehicle, with some crossover onto curtainsider work when required.

This is a same-day delivery environment, so strong time management, clear communication, and a professional attitude are essential.

The Role

• Carrying out deliveries and collections to and from various business premises

• Operating a 32T beavertail vehicle for plant and access equipment

• Occasional curtainsider work when required

• Completing all delivery and collection documentation accurately

• Verifying loads and following precise delivery instructions

• Ensuring goods are loaded and secured safely

• Driving safely at all times in line with road traffic regulations

• Communicating clearly with line management regarding delays or incidents

• Completing regular vehicle inspections

• Reporting any mechanical issues or defects

• Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle

• Comfortable working in heavy traffic and unsociable hours when required

Key Skills & Experience

• Valid UK Class 2 (Cat C) licence (no more than 3 points)

• Valid CPC and medical

• IPAF certification (in-date preferred)

• Previous Class 2 driving experience (essential)

• Experience loading/unloading plant or access equipment

• Confident using GPS and routing software

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Calm and professional under pressure

• Takes pride in their work and presentation

IPAF:
Candidates with IPAF already in date are highly desirable. However, we are happy to fund an IPAF refresher for the right candidate.
