Strong Recruitment Group is recruiting an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering major residential projects.
Working alongside the existing QS, you’ll take ownership of the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages, from procurement through to final account. Manage the commercial lifecycle of M&E packages, from pre-construction through to final account and handover.
Lead subcontractor procurement, prepare tender documents, assess bids and negotiate commercial terms.
Prepare interim valuations, monthly cost forecasts and final accounts.
Identify, price and manage variations and changes to project scope.
Monitor budgets, cash flow and project margins, providing clear reports to senior management.
Administer subcontract agreements and manage commercial claims and disputes.
Identify commercial risks and implement measures to protect profitability.
Work closely with project managers, design engineers, site teams and clients to support successful delivery.
Carry out site visits to verify progress and support accurate valuations.
Maintain accurate commercial records for audits and client reviews.
Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on major projects, typically valued at £20m+.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical services within high-rise residential developments.
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
A strong track record in cost forecasting, valuations, variation management and final accounts.
Confident negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
Strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with Sage would be an advantage.
Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience with cost or measurement software, professional membership or progress towards RICS/CIOB, and experience working with external consultants would also be beneficial.
Salary up to £100,000 DOE.
