Construction Senior Estimator

Location: Kenley, Surrey
Salary: Up to £90,000 (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Primarily Office-Based with Flexibility as Required

About the Role

Our client is a growing construction contractor seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team in Kenley. Working on refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects valued at up to £5 million, you will play a key role in securing new business and supporting the continued growth of the company.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to become a senior figure within a successful and expanding business, with genuine long-term progression available.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions across a range of construction projects.
• Manage framework quotations, small works opportunities and competitive tenders.
• Source and identify opportunities through public and private tender portals.
• Produce take-offs, cost plans and pricing schedules.
• Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Build and maintain pricing databases and schedules of rates.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the tender process.
• Provide value engineering solutions and commercial input.
• Analyse tender feedback to improve future bid success.
• Support the commercial and operational teams during project handover.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
• Experience pricing refurbishment, fit-out and/or new build projects up to £5 million.
• Strong knowledge of public procurement and tender portals.
• Ability to build rates from first principles.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Bluebeam or similar estimating software.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
